Role Overview
The APAC Benefits Strategy Manager will lead the development and administration of comprehensive global benefits programs covering health, wellbeing, retirement, life, disability, absence, and other employee perks. This role serves as the primary strategic liaison for benefit programs across approximately ten countries, coordinating vendor relations, ensuring adherence to varied local regulations, and collaborating with internal partners to support the organization's growth and evolving workforce requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine employee benefits and wellbeing initiatives on a global scale, ensuring alignment with overarching Total Rewards strategies and regional market norms.
- Incorporate benchmarking data, regulatory updates, and employee insights to propose and implement program innovations.
- Advise HR teams and leadership on benefits trends, strategic direction, and best practices.
- Oversee relationships with benefit vendors including brokers, insurers, and third-party administrators, managing RFPs, contracts, and service quality.
- Conduct vendor audits and evaluate performance regularly to guarantee effectiveness and cost efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with local benefits legislation within APAC, including mandates such as Singapore’s CPF and Malaysia’s EPF, plus statutory leave entitlements.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance departments to mitigate risks and maintain audit readiness amid dynamic regulatory landscapes.
- Lead employee communications for benefits changes, enrollment periods, and ongoing educational programs, producing clear, accessible content.
- Train HR teams on benefits policies and escalation procedures.
- Utilize data analytics to assess utilization trends, cost factors, and employee feedback, providing actionable insights to senior leadership and managing the global benefits budget.
- Contribute to broader global initiatives including wellbeing campaigns, recognition schemes, M&A integrations, and system enhancements such as Workday.
- Foster a culture focused on continuous improvement and employee-centric benefit program design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications such as CEBS or IFEBP Global Certification are preferred.
- Between 4 to 8+ years of progressive experience managing employee benefits in multinational or matrixed environments.
- Track record of developing and managing multi-country benefits programs and vendor relationships across diverse legal frameworks.
- Comprehensive understanding of global statutory compliance and benefits regulations.
- Strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into effective benefits solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at simplifying complex subjects for varied audiences.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making using analytics and advanced Excel functions.
- Effective project management skills with capability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- High standards of ethics, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.
