Role Overview

Haven is looking for a Kitchen Porter to become part of its kitchen team in Norfolk, England. This role is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes position that helps keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly while offering chances to build skills and progress.

Job Details

This position is available on a full-time, part-time, or seasonal basis. Pay can be as high as £12.71 per hour, with the exact rate varying by age.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support the kitchen team by keeping work areas hygienic, helping with straightforward food preparation, and making sure supplies and equipment are handled properly. The role suits someone who enjoys a busy setting and practical work.

Cleaning and Hygiene

• Wash dishes, tools, pots, and pans, and keep surfaces, equipment, and floors sanitised in line with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a tidy and orderly kitchen throughout the day.

Food Preparation Support

• Assist with simple prep work such as cutting vegetables, preparing ingredients, and putting together basic dishes when directed by the chefs.

Stock and Kitchen Organisation

• Support stock control by arranging ingredients, unloading deliveries, and storing items correctly.

Requirements

• No previous experience is necessary, though experience in a kitchen, porter role, or catering environment would be an advantage.
• You should be comfortable with physical duties such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are important.
• Availability to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, is needed.
