NPLQ Lifeguard

Role overview

Haven is hiring Lifeguards for its Berwick-Upon-Tweed site. This position is available on a full-time, part-time, or seasonal basis and pays £12.71 per hour. The role is focused on keeping swimmers safe while helping create an enjoyable pool experience for guests.

What you will do

• Keep a close watch over swimming areas to reduce the risk of accidents and protect guests.
• Act quickly in emergencies, including delivering first aid and performing rescue actions when needed.
• Apply pool and facility rules to maintain a secure and pleasant environment.
• Carry out routine checks on pool equipment and safety conditions.
• Help keep the pool area tidy and well-organised.
• Support guests with questions, concerns, and general service needs.

What you need

• A current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
• Strong swimming ability.
• Good judgment, attention to detail, and sound decision-making.
• The ability to stay focused and respond rapidly in emergency situations.
• A welcoming, approachable manner and clear communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Additional requirements

The selected candidate must complete an Enhanced DBS check successfully before starting work.
