About the Position
Tech Consulting is looking for motivated Junior Data Analysts to join their expanding consulting team. This entry-level full-time role offers a great chance for recent graduates or early-career IT professionals who are enthusiastic about transforming data into actionable business insights through analysis, business intelligence, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, verify, and examine data from various sources to support operational and business goals.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate significant business findings.
- Develop SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze extensive datasets.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to discover patterns, trends, and potential opportunities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and software teams to clarify reporting needs.
- Help ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity throughout enterprise systems.
- Produce ad hoc reports and offer analytical assistance for business projects.
- Adhere to data management best practices, including maintaining documentation, version control, and applying Agile methods.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in fields such as Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Between 1 and 4 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, or similar technical roles.
- Proficient analytical abilities with skills in SQL, Microsoft Excel, Python, R, or comparable data analysis software.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and database concepts.
- Basic familiarity with statistics, data analysis methodologies, and business intelligence frameworks.
- Experience or exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
- Preferred familiarity with data analysis libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and communication skills to present insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Openness to relocate to Atlanta, GA for paid training and to travel or relocate as required for client projects across the U.S.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Completed internships or academic/personal projects involving data analytics, reporting, or visualization.
- Experience with Excel advanced features like Pivot Tables, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and SQL reporting tools.
- Understanding of ETL and data warehousing principles.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
