Role Overview
This full-time position for a Joiner involves work both onsite and in the workshop situated in Cumbernauld. Key responsibilities include undertaking daily joinery activities such as interpreting technical drawings, selecting suitable materials, and using both hand and power tools with safety as a priority. The candidate will ensure all tasks comply with quality and safety guidelines and will work independently as well as collaboratively with supervisors and team members to efficiently plan and complete assignments. Additional duties include repair work, preparing sites, cleaning up, and maintaining an orderly work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess relevant joinery or carpentry credentials such as an apprenticeship, NVQ/SVQ, or equivalent experience in both site and workshop environments.
- Skilled in practical use of hand and power tools, including accurate measuring, cutting, and assembling timber elements.
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical schematics, plans, and instructions to fulfill project specifications.
- Well-versed in health and safety protocols, including safe usage of tools and equipment, manual handling, and compliance with site regulations.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to quality workmanship.
- Effective communicator with ability to collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients professionally.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and capable of managing workload to meet project deadlines.
- Possession of a full driving license and access to transportation is preferred; previous experience in residential or commercial building sectors is a plus. A company van will be supplied for work-related travel during working hours.
