About the Company

Cohen & Company Capital Markets (CCM), a division of Cohen & Company Securities, LLC, was launched in 2021 with a focus on guiding clients through demanding markets and complex transactions. The platform has grown quickly into one of Wall Street’s fastest-expanding boutique investment banks, built around coverage in areas that larger firms often overlook.

CCM advises both established and emerging businesses on strategic and financial matters, drawing on a strong reputation, broad relationships, and disciplined execution. The team has built meaningful momentum by delivering complex transactions across Digital Assets, Energy and Energy Transition, Cyber, Technology, and other fast-growing sectors, and it provides advisory support across strategic advisory, capital markets advisory, SPAC advisory, and merchant banking. Since its founding in 2021, the firm has announced and closed more than 190 transactions.

Cohen & Company, the parent organization, is a financial services firm focused on capital markets, asset management, and principal investing.

Role Overview

CCM is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Associate for its New York office. This position offers direct exposure to a compact, highly experienced team and significant responsibility across investment banking transactions, including IPOs, follow-ons, private placements, and SPAC-related capital raises.

Associates are expected to participate in the full transaction lifecycle, from origination through closing. The environment is fast-moving and demands strong judgment, composure under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. This opportunity is designed for someone who wants broader exposure, faster progression, and greater responsibility than is typical at a bulge-bracket platform.

Compensation is intended to be in line with top-tier elite boutique investment banking firms. Applicants with prior associate-level investment banking experience are expected to contribute quickly and take the lead on several live transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior bankers to win mandates and deliver high-quality advisory and execution support.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for client executives and handle deal-related questions and communications.
  • Own project coordination and keep transaction workstreams moving on schedule.
  • Lead the preparation of client-facing presentations and diligence materials.
  • Identify and engage corporate and financial sponsor buyers and investors, and manage those relationships during the process.
  • Develop and coordinate qualitative and quantitative analysis that supports transaction execution.
  • Build or oversee complex financial models for transaction scenarios.
  • Create presentations and materials that support new business development efforts.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture centered on client service.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising analysts.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant investment banking experience is required; candidates who have progressed from analyst to associate at respected firms may also be considered, though the role is expected to be highly competitive.
  • Prior M&A advisory product experience is a strong advantage.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution is preferred, ideally in Business (Accounting, Finance, or Economics), Technical Sciences (Engineering or Physics), or Liberal Arts.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple workstreams effectively.
  • Strong organization, execution, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities in both large and small settings.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Solid quantitative and technical aptitude.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and tools such as FactSet and PitchBook.
  • Collaborative, competitive, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Professional maturity, presence, and confidence in client-facing situations.
  • U.S. work authorization is required.
  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 registrations are required.
  • The role must be performed onsite in the New York City office.

Additional Information

The company provides a comprehensive benefits package. The salary range for this role is $175,000 per year, and this amount reflects the employer’s good-faith compensation estimate under the New York City Human Rights Law at the time the posting was prepared.

Why Join CCM

  • Work alongside senior bankers with strong track records from bulge-bracket institutions.
  • Gain access to high-quality deal flow and prominent transactions.
  • Build a career in a fast-growing boutique with attractive compensation and meaningful upside.
  • Interact directly with senior leaders at high-growth companies.
  • Join a close-knit team that is expanding quickly.
