Job Overview

This role involves overseeing and managing all yard operations related to import-export (EXIM) activities at the Mundra port facility. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring efficient cargo movement, compliance, inventory accuracy, and team leadership to support smooth EXIM functioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all tasks concerning the receiving, storage, stacking, dispatching, and internal movements of materials within the yard.
• Optimize yard space utilization while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
• Oversee inbound and outbound cargo operations to facilitate seamless EXIM processes.
• Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, customs representatives, and warehouse personnel to maintain smooth cargo flows.
• Maintain precise inventory records and yard occupancy details, conduct regular physical verifications, and reconcile inconsistencies.
• Ensure materials are properly identified, tagged, and traceable, while monitoring aging stock and advising on corrective measures.
• Ensure adherence to customs regulations, EXIM policies, statutory requirements, and company SOPs through accurate documentation and coordination with regulatory bodies.
• Support internal and external audits and compliance reviews as required.
• Analyze yard operations to identify and implement productivity improvements, reduce turnaround times, and develop performance dashboards.
• Drive digitization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, safety, and operational excellence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop yard supervisors, operators, and contract staff, managing manpower planning aligned with operational needs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training requirements for the team.
• Maintain strict health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a zero-incident culture.
• Ensure good housekeeping practices and compliance with environmental requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Procurement, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Quality, and Operations to resolve operational issues effectively.
• Support business continuity through proactive planning and execution of yard operations.

Qualifications

• Between 5 and 8 years of professional experience in yard operations, warehouse management, logistics, shipping, ports, ICD/CFS, or EXIM operations.
• Experience with import-export documentation and handling customs-related procedures.
• Previous team management experience is preferred.
