Role Overview
The Human Resources Generalist position is a full-time, on-site job based in New York, NY. The role focuses on supporting day-to-day HR activities such as implementing HR policies, managing employee benefits programs, and addressing benefits-related questions. Key duties include coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. Additionally, the HR Generalist assists with employee relations, contributes to performance management efforts, and partners with leadership to enhance HR processes aligned to company goals.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in core Human Resources functions and HR management to support routine operations and strategic projects.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and enforce HR policies consistent with legal requirements and organizational standards across various states and sites.
- Experience administering employee benefits programs and managing related inquiries effectively.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and accuracy in handling personnel information.
- Previous work experience as an HR Generalist or similar role, ideally within industrial or manufacturing sectors, along with knowledge of pertinent employment legislation.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or comparable practical experience; professional certifications like SHRM-CP or PHR are advantageous.
