Role Summary
We are looking for an HR Driver to join our transport team based in Warrnambool, Victoria, to handle local livestock transport utilizing Heavy Rigid vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicles safely and efficiently for local livestock transport.
- Manage the loading, unloading, and care of livestock adhering to welfare standards and company protocols.
- Support yard activities including livestock movement and preparation for transport.
- Conduct vehicle pre-start inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and operational guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to road safety, fatigue management policies, and company rules.
- Engage in structured training, mentoring, and competency evaluations.
- Advance through career development stages from HR to HC/B-Double, and eventually B-Triple operations.
- Maintain thorough transport records and documentation.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, colleagues, and involved parties.
- Support a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement within the transport division.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a current HR Driver Licence.
- Proven safe driving history and strong understanding of road safety principles.
- Capability or enthusiasm to learn safe livestock handling methods.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
- Commitment to a structured career development pathway.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about fatigue management and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as a team member.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks related to livestock handling.
