Graphic Designer - Contract Role

Position Overview

This contract position involves providing graphic design services through an external staffing partner for Microsoft. Successful candidates will join an innovative AI content team focused on crafting exceptional templates, presentations, documents, and workbooks within Microsoft 365 applications. The role demands a blend of refined visual skills, storytelling aptitude, technical production capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail. Candidates should have experience designing professional content for enterprise or small business users, ensuring the final designs are visually appealing, technically rigorous, and meet high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce premium templates for PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets covering diverse client use cases
• Design cohesive layouts, visual frameworks, and reusable components that are polished, accessible, and user-friendly for customization
• Apply critical design judgment to maintain clarity, consistency, and adherence to creative standards in each template
• Refine file formatting to ensure uniformity of typography, spacing, alignment, color, imagery, tables, charts, and content hierarchy
• Interpret creative briefs and content needs into functional, customer-ready design templates
• Support production workflows by creating, editing, and performing quality control for files across Microsoft 365 tools
• Work closely with content creators, designers, and product teams to integrate feedback and continuously enhance template quality
• Maintain high standards for file structure, usability, accessibility, and cross-platform performance
• Set and meet project milestones while adapting to evolving priorities
• Incorporate AI technologies within content and design workflows, ensuring a human oversight approach for quality assurance
• Communicate proactively and collaborate with both internal team members and external vendor partners

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 4 years of professional experience in graphic design focused on presentations, documents, and spreadsheets
• Proven expertise designing corporate or small business professional content specifically in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communications, Data Analytics, Marketing, or related discipline
• Experience producing customer-facing templates and business content suitable for enterprise clients
• Must provide portfolio showcasing strong skills in layout, typography, composition, and visual aesthetics
• Deep knowledge of graphic design principles including typography, layout, color theory, composition, hierarchy, and visual balance
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, notably PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Familiarity with design software such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experienced in employing AI design tools like Microsoft Copilot or comparable platforms
• In-depth understanding of template systems encompassing reusable layouts, consistent styling, and scalable design patterns
• Meticulous attention to detail regarding formatting, alignment, spacing, accessibility, and overall file quality
• Adept at interpreting creative direction, briefs, and applying iterative feedback efficiently in a high-volume setting
• Strong visual, verbal, and written communication capabilities
• Capability to juggle multiple concurrent projects while maintaining consistent quality and accuracy
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices for presentations, documents, and spreadsheets
• Experience adhering to corporate brand guidelines or design systems
• Strong discipline in production design including file cleanup, accurate formatting, and thorough quality control

• Work location: Fully remote
• Contract duration: 4 months
• Compensation range: $26.50 to $30 per hour
• Weekly commitment: 40 hours
• Employment status: Non-exempt
