About Weir & Sons

We are inviting a talented Goldsmith to become part of our workshop team, crafting bespoke, high-quality jewellery that reflects the brand's esteemed heritage.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, design, and assemble detailed jewellery pieces from gold and precious metals.
- Perform precise repairs, alterations, and resizing while maintaining superior quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with designers and gemmologists to fulfill customized orders accurate to customer specifications.
- Use both traditional and modern goldsmithing skills including soldering, forging, engraving, and casting.
- Handle gemstone setting and finishing with exceptional care to ensure flawless results.
- Maintain the durability and impeccable finishing of all jewellery items.
- Carry out stringent quality checks to maintain Weir & Sons' craftsmanship standards.
- Suggest improvements or enhancements to exceed customer expectations.
- Keep tools, equipment, and workspace clean, organized, and in good working order.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines within the workshop environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least five years of professional experience as a Goldsmith, preferably in fine or luxury jewellery.
- Mastery of advanced metalworking methods such as soldering, engraving, and hand fabrication.
- Skillful handling and setting of gemstones and precious materials.
- Knowledge of CAD design software and 3D printing is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to precision and high-quality finishes.
- Strong creative and cooperative spirit to work effectively with designers, gemmologists, and sales teams.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity for detailed craftsmanship.
- Formal goldsmithing or jewellery-making certification is highly preferred.
