General Manager

Position Overview

This General Manager role is at a restaurant franchised by an independent operator using McDonald's branding and products, but it is not managed by McDonald’s USA. The franchisor is responsible for all employment decisions including recruitment and workplace management. McDonald’s USA is uninvolved in hiring and employment matters.

About the Role

The General Manager leads operations to ensure the restaurant is profitable and meets McDonald’s standards in quality, service, and cleanliness. Collaborating with leadership, the GM sets business objectives and crafts strategies to attain them while directing Department Managers to meet their individual goals. Providing coaching and oversight, the GM enhances departmental performance to drive restaurant success.

Team Leadership

The GM manages a team including Department and Shift Managers, focusing on hiring, development, and ongoing support to build a capable leadership pipeline.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants possess prior experience managing high-volume quick-service or hospitality operations. Experience in retail is also valuable. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to serve as a manager in corporate-owned stores.
