Keyholder Role Overview

Keyholders play a critical role in ensuring consistently excellent store operations and customer engagement. They recommend suitable products and services to promote the healthiest, most enjoyable life for pets and contribute to the store's profitability and growth. Keyholders assist with all store functions and act as representatives within their local communities. They uphold and promote core values of Safety, Compassion, Expertise, and Efficiency and serve as role models by coaching others accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Operating the cash register and managing sales transactions
• Handling merchandise orders preparation, banking duties, and other paperwork
• Stocking smaller merchandise (under 10 lbs) such as pet supplies and household items in the sales area
• Performing routine store maintenance tasks, including sweeping and dusting
• Assisting with unloading deliveries of pet food and supplies (up to 50 lbs) and properly stocking items
• Opening and closing the store following established company procedures
• Delegating daily tasks and goals to Associate Customer Experts (ACEs) in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
• Carrying out additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in retail or customer service roles
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
• Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service abilities
• Capability to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
• Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business requirements
• Reliable transportation to commute to and from the store
• A valid driver's license may be necessary
