About the Role

We are seeking a Frontend Developer to manage and enhance a collection of essential internal web applications. This position is suited for someone who prefers refining and maintaining existing software rather than creating new applications from scratch. You will become the primary developer responsible for three well-established internal systems, collaborating intimately with users across the company to add features, address issues, and continually enhance user experience. As your expertise deepens, you will assume full technical ownership of these applications, while the broader development team concentrates on new product initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and develop improvements for three current internal web applications.
Diagnose and troubleshoot bugs and technical problems.
Create new features guided by input from internal users.
Enhance usability, speed, and the overall user experience of the applications.
Prepare applications for global expansion, including localization, translation, and compliance with jurisdiction-specific processes.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and craft effective solutions.
Assume long-term responsibility for ongoing application development and upkeep.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Professional experience with HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
Track record of maintaining and improving existing web applications.
Strong analytical mindset with excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in writing clear, maintainable, and well-structured code.
Comfortable engaging directly with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting internal business applications.
Familiarity with localization or multilingual application support.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and usability best practices.

Additional Information

Location: Central London (Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £40,000 annually
