Adclear is creating the foundational trust layer for how highly regulated industries like banking, lending, and investment platforms launch products. Compliance review, a bottleneck that hinders every campaign and product launch, is being transformed from a roadblock into an enabling infrastructure. Founded in 2024, Adclear already counts prominent fintech and financial service companies such as Monzo, Lloyds, PensionBee, Kraken, and Coinbase among its clients. After raising a 2.6 million funding round, the company is now entering a rapid growth phase. The product you design will be central to delivering this transformative change.

Role Overview

As Adclear's very first dedicated product designer, you will have full ownership over the product experience—from initial research and problem definition to interaction design, UI, and final shipped results. You will work very closely with the CTO and founders in London, joining the team onsite at their Farringdon office four days per week. This role combines traditional product design responsibilities with significant influence on product direction and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design process: from defining problems and conducting research, through prototyping to delivering high-fidelity, polished UI in shipped products.
• Partner with the CTO to prioritize features, scope product releases, and make decisions about what to build.
• Conduct user research firsthand by joining customer calls, attending compliance review sessions, and using findings to guide product development.
• Create and evolve the design function at Adclear, including a design system, reusable patterns, quality standards, and collaboration processes with engineering and go-to-market teams.
• Prototype rapidly to quickly validate ideas and resolve design debates.
• Collaborate closely with engineering during development to ensure implementation matches design intent.
• Simplify complex regulated workflows to create intuitive experiences for end users.

First Year Milestones

• Within the first three months, gain deep knowledge of the product, technical architecture, users, and compliance challenges.
• Engage directly with customers to collect insights that influence product decisions.
• Deliver significant design improvements that elevate product quality.
• Establish strong collaborative working relationships with CTO and engineering teams.
• By three months and beyond, take full responsibility for product experience and influence both design and broader product roadmaps.
• Build foundational design systems and processes that will support future design hires and scale.
• Embed regular user research practices within the company culture.

Candidate Profile

• At least three to five years of experience designing complex software products used daily by people in high-pressure environments.
• Practical knowledge of software systems, including hands-on coding or prototyping experience, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration with engineers.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma; familiarity with coding-assisted prototyping tools like Cursor or Claude Code is highly desirable.
• Bonus points for experience in regulated industries such as fintech or regtech.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and contribute from ground zero in startup contexts without predefined specifications or playbooks.
• Experience designing for users who are non-technical operators, such as compliance reviewers and marketers rather than expert software users.
• Skill in switching quickly between low-fidelity sketches and high-fidelity clickable prototypes to accelerate decision-making.
