Role Overview
Leeside Talent Solutions is partnering with a respected, community-oriented organisation to appoint a Financial Controller. This key permanent position entails leading and developing a finance team, collaborating closely with operational managers and senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations across several business locations.
- Compile and evaluate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records and enforce robust financial controls.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
- Facilitate external audits and guarantee compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory standards.
- Track financial and operational performance; analyze data to guide informed business decisions.
- Detect financial trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancing financial results and operational effectiveness.
- Participate in strategic planning and ongoing business improvement efforts.
- Mentor, lead, and nurture the finance team members.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with operational managers and senior leaders to align financial goals with business objectives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Robust expertise in financial management and accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial data across multiple business units or sites.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating financial information into business strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel, especially in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Possession of a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA is preferred.
- Prior tenure in a Financial Controller or senior finance position within retail, FMCG, or similar multi-location businesses is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for effective collaboration across finance and operational functions.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in building and developing high-performing teams.
- High integrity, precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to best financial governance practices.
