Financial Analyst - Remote Contract Opportunity

Role Overview

Mercor partners elite creative and technical experts with leading AI research initiatives. Based in San Francisco and backed by prominent investors, we seek an experienced Accounting Expert for a remote contract role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop highly specific grading rubrics for various accounting deliverables such as reconciliations, month-end close packages, and financial statements.
• Evaluate AI-generated and human work samples according to these rubrics and provide detailed written explanations for each assessment.
• Maintain consistency and base scoring decisions on clear evidence to ensure reproducibility and defendability.
• Integrate feedback from senior reviewers promptly and refine your evaluations accordingly.
• Work independently and asynchronously with the team to improve AI system performance in accounting tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' professional experience in accounting.
• Experience in audit, assurance, advisory roles at top-tier global accounting firms, or senior accounting positions within large publicly traded companies.
• Possession of CPA or an equivalent credential is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in US GAAP, month-end closes, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit-ready documentation.
• Excellent written communication abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail, consistency in judgment, and openness to peer review.

Preferred Experience

• Previous involvement with AI training, evaluation, or projects that combine human insights with data.
