Job Overview
We are in a dynamic growth stage and seeking a detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our Financial Shared Services team located at Sydney Olympic Park. This position involves transforming financial data into strategic insights, managing critical customer payment claims and collections, thorough reconciliations, and generating reports and forecasts used by senior management including the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full process for major customer payment claims, ensuring timely preparation, review, and submission with comprehensive supporting documentation, and collaborate with clients to facilitate prompt payment collection.
- Resolve intricate account reconciliations and outstanding commercial issues to minimize credit risk by addressing discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary contact for invoicing issues related to complex customer accounts.
- Conduct daily reviews of aged trial balances, delivering analysis, recommendations, and key performance indicators for the accounts receivable team.
- Identify and interpret trends and customer payment behaviors, offering actionable insights.
- Coordinate with the Debt Recovery team to promptly manage accounts at risk.
- Develop and analyze regular financial reports and forecasts for leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead continuous enhancements and system transformation initiatives within the function.
- Foster strong relationships internally and externally to promote a culture emphasizing customer and shareholder value.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in leveraging AI and automation technologies to enhance reporting accuracy and process efficiency, paired with a strong interest in emerging tools.
- Relevant finance degrees or equivalent experience with a solid background in finance, reporting, or credit and collections roles.
- High proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and visualization applications such as Power BI and Power Query, ensuring meticulous data accuracy.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the capability to convey complex information to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
- Strong communication and relationship management abilities, along with familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- Organized and process-focused, capable of handling tight deadlines in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and finance systems such as D365, SAP, or Oracle, alongside credit, collections, or accounts receivable platforms, preferably within shared services finance teams.
- Background experience in sectors like construction, property, waste, or recycling is advantageous.
