Job description
Position Summary
This role focuses on maintaining a safe and well-functioning service center environment by handling facility maintenance, repairs, and coordinating vendor services effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on the facility, including the shop, grounds, and dock areas.
- Ensure the facility complies with company policies and local fire and safety regulations to pass inspections.
- Serve as the main contact for service center staff regarding all maintenance needs.
- Conduct weekly inspections of the facility, yard, and fences to identify and perform necessary repairs or preventive maintenance in areas such as drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, potholes, HVAC, dock doors, fences, and gates.
- Manage and monitor fire safety equipment, including draining drip drums and visually checking the fire sprinkler system.
- Repair or replace dock doors, levelers, bumpers, and maintain pallet jacks.
- Take proactive measures for ice removal on sidewalks and stairs, perform snow clearing and landscaping when needed.
- Schedule vendor repairs, supervise vendor work, review Facility Services Agreements, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborate with the Facility Maintenance team to coordinate both internal and external repairs, reporting service or performance issues and delays.
- Adhere strictly to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Fundamental skills in electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing.
- Ability to comprehend and execute instructions effectively.
- Capability to work independently or within a team setting.
- Basic proficiency in written and verbal communication for documentation and interactions with colleagues, supervisors, and vendors.
- Experience with personal computers and ability to operate maintenance software programs.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to workplace noise and vibrations.
- Possible contact with dust and diesel fumes.
- Handling of hazardous materials transported under DOT regulations.
- Work performed under varying weather conditions outdoors.
- Variable work hours depending on operational demands.
- Potential travel to other service centers may be necessary.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this role is $24.49.
