Executive Equipment Control

Overview

Ocean Network Express is seeking a meticulous and analytical Equipment Control Executive to join their operations team based in Singapore. This role focuses on managing Demurrage and Detention (D&D) reconciliations, tracking container usage efficiency, and ensuring the accuracy of container movement records. The position also involves supporting operational data reporting and driving cost optimization initiatives to enhance equipment management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate reconciliation of Demurrage & Detention charges to verify billing correctness.
• Oversee and minimize long-term idle empty containers to improve asset utilization.
• Maintain and correct container movement data within the OPUS system.
• Assist in auditing depot invoices for precision and regulatory compliance.
• Support Equipment Control workflows to efficiently monitor and manage container assets.
• Collect, reconcile, and visualize operational data for detailed reporting and analysis.
• Perform ad-hoc operational duties to assist daily business functions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs through detailed analytical assessments.
• Carry out any additional assigned responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma in Maritime Studies, Shipping or related disciplines is mandatory.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
• Familiarity with Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) standards, cargo-worthy inspections, and repair estimation, with IICL certification considered advantageous.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong time management and multitasking capabilities.
• Detail-focused with proficient analytical and problem-solving skills enabling sound operational decision-making.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel features like Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP, as well as Google Suite tools.
