Role Overview
We are seeking an Equalities Manager who is dedicated to fostering inclusive services and enhancing equitable access, outcomes, and experiences for service users. This leadership position enables you to shape and advance the Trust's equality and human rights agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level guidance on equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights issues throughout the organisation, assisting Operational Directorates in achieving equity across access, experience, and outcomes for service users.
- Facilitate evidence-driven strategies to address health disparities impacting communities such as global majority groups, disabled individuals, and LGBTQ+ persons, embedding EDI principles in service delivery and strategic planning.
- Advise the Trust on compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks including the Equality Act 2010, Human Rights Act 1998, Accessible Information Standard, Patient and Carer Race Equity Framework (PCREF), and NHS Equality Delivery System.
- Design, implement, and oversee initiatives focused on improving equity for service users, reducing health inequalities, implementing PCREF, and supporting the Trust's Anti-racism plan.
- Collaborate with the workforce EDI lead to support the Trust-wide EDI Group, promoting continuous learning and development.
- Coordinate development, execution, and monitoring of the Trust's Integrated Equalities Action Plan in relation to service delivery.
About the Trust and Team
This position is situated within the Strategy and Transformation Directorate, reporting to the Deputy Chief Strategy Officer of Strategy and Partnerships. The role involves close collaboration with the Executive Team, Corporate and Operational Directorates, communities, service users, carers, and partners to drive strategic planning, community engagement, and service enhancement through transformation programs.
Working Arrangements
The role offers a flexible working pattern combining home and office-based work. Onsite responsibilities are based at the Trust Headquarters located in Maudsley Hospital, London.
