Position Overview

AllSTEM Connections is currently seeking a skilled Epidemiologist for a remote 4-month contract role supporting Eastern Standard Time (EST) schedules. The position offers an hourly wage of up to $58.20 and the potential for contract extension or transition to permanent employment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.

Role Summary

The Epidemiologist will support the evaluation framework for patient-centered programs and digital health projects by contributing to the design of studies, establishing measurement approaches, and defining patient outcome strategies. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to derive data-driven insights that help optimize program effectiveness and facilitate evidence-based decision-making.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage assigned deliverables independently while actively participating in frequent cross-functional meetings.
• Attend and engage in project, vendor, and team discussions to foster collaboration.
• Work closely with project leaders, analytics teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Create and support evaluation methodologies, study designs, measurement plans, and key performance indicator frameworks.
• Convert organizational questions into quantifiable objectives and practical evaluation strategies.
• Assist with executing program measurement plans, including baseline metrics, indicator tracking, and post-implementation assessments.
• Contribute to defining success criteria and evaluation methodologies for patient health initiatives.
• Support the development of scalable analytical tools and insight generation capabilities.
• Translate complex analytical processes into clear, accessible recommendations for non-technical team members.
• Prepare detailed performance reports to inform strategic choices and foster continual program enhancements.
• Collaborate with approximately ten cross-functional stakeholders across internal and external teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or closely related field.
• Between four and six years of professional experience in epidemiology, healthcare analytics, evaluation science, or public health research.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing evaluation strategies within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or patient-led initiatives.
• Strong familiarity with study design principles including use of intervention and control groups, and ability to identify potential bias.
• Experience developing key performance indicators, performance measurement plans, and evaluation frameworks.
• Capacity to translate complex analytic concepts into clear instructions for business stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to interpret healthcare datasets to support program evaluation and informed decision-making.
• Outstanding communication and project coordination capabilities.
• A growth-oriented mindset with ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-evolving environments.
• Strong enthusiasm for enhancing patient outcomes and addressing care disparities.

Essential Expertise

• Solid background in evaluation science.
• Hands-on experience in study design methodology.
• Expertise in understanding and mitigating bias through intervention/control group configurations.
• Experience evaluating patient outcomes, health behaviors, or healthcare programs.
• Knowledge of healthcare data sources such as claims data, electronic health records (EHR), real-world evidence (RWE), and vendor-generated or unstructured healthcare data.
• Effective collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Capability to communicate complex methodologies to non-technical audiences.
• Strong project coordination and management skills.
• Confidence in leading vendor and stakeholder discussions.

Preferred Background

• Educational or professional background in public health or epidemiology.
• Experience within pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
• Familiarity with real-world evidence applications.
• Experience supporting patient engagement or digital health programs.
• History of working with external vendors.
• Clinical or patient-facing healthcare knowledge.
• Experience with healthcare analytics or data visualization tools is advantageous.
