Role Summary

The Enterprise Banker role focuses on enhancing business performance by acquiring new clients and expanding services within existing client portfolios, while collaborating closely with branch management for specialist support where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to open Enterprise banking accounts adhering strictly to the bank's recruitment policies.
  • Participate actively in product marketing campaigns, providing clear explanations to clients.
  • Set, pursue, and exceed defined sales targets connected to various campaigns.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities with current and prospective customers to enhance portfolio profitability through product promotion.
  • Assess and present suitable financial products quickly and effectively, both reactively and proactively.
  • Actively generate product interest through in-person meetings, client visits, and telephone communication, including pursuing leads passed by colleagues.
  • Initiate client credit applications aligned with SME lending guidelines and work with the commercial credit team to ensure appropriate loan decisions are communicated and alternative solutions explored.
  • Structure productive customer meetings with clear objectives and planned outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed sales performance records for management review.
  • Collaborate with branch team members to facilitate referrals to the Enterprise Banker when product or service needs arise.
  • Assist customers with account opening documentation and submit for managerial and operational review.
  • Conduct financial assessments during loan sales to assess eligibility, inform customers appropriately in case of denials, and report these instances daily to the Branch Manager.
  • Follow up after account opening by contacting customers and sending welcome information packages.
  • Manage customer inquiries and resolve complaints related to account opening, loans, and card applications promptly, escalating unresolved issues as needed.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Operations and KYC Helpdesk to ensure swift resolution of escalated matters.
  • Guide customers to appropriate banking channels to meet their transactional needs.
  • Notify customers upon availability of cheque books, cards, or other account-related items and follow up on uncollected materials.
  • Inform customers of approved loans and encourage timely drawdowns.
  • Assist with customer flow during busy periods by addressing quick queries and directing clients efficiently.
  • Ensure promotional materials are stocked in the branch and inform management of any shortages.
  • Provide business advice to Personal Banking customers when the Personal Banker is unavailable.
  • Support branch operations by opening and closing cashier tills alongside management and authorizing transactions exceeding teller limits.
  • Act as the branch's cash custodian, monitoring and managing cash levels throughout the day.
  • Ensure precision and compliance in new account applications, loan documents, card applications, and account mandate changes, taking personal accountability for quality and accuracy.
  • Strive for excellence in operational processes and procedures to maintain green audit statuses.
  • Manage KYC compliance and escalate any unresolved issues beyond service level agreements.
  • Adhere strictly to all risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, anti-money laundering policies, and internal bank standards.
  • Conduct spot checks and assist with cashier duties as assigned.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the bank.

Qualifications

Possession of a Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies is mandatory.
