Electrician

Role Overview

The Electrician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment primarily used in rolling mills and industrial settings to ensure continuous production.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems of rolling mill machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and control panels.
• Manage the upkeep of electrical distribution systems including motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, and power cabling.
• Inspect and maintain devices such as sensors, encoders, limit switches, proximity switches, and other instrumentation.
• Identify and diagnose electrical issues swiftly to reduce production downtime.
• Interpret and work from electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
• Ensure accurate calibration and functional verification of electrical instruments.
• Assist in commissioning and startup processes of new machinery and production lines.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, reports, and manage an inventory of spare parts.
• Strictly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures along with all applicable electrical safety regulations.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with mechanical, production, and automation teams for seamless operation.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven ability in electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Practical experience working with PLCs such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or similar platforms.
• Understanding and hands-on knowledge of VFDs and DC drive systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout practices.
• Competency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness and ability to work shift schedules and respond promptly to urgent breakdown situations.

Salary

The position offers a monthly remuneration in the range of INR 30,000 to INR 40,000.

The job location is Hubli, Karnataka, India.
