Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an Ecologist to conduct habitat and protected species surveys, assist with Biodiversity Net Gain evaluations, and carry out habitat assessments. You will be responsible for producing high-quality technical reports and supporting ecological projects throughout all phases from initial site evaluation to project completion. This position involves close collaboration with experienced team members, clients, and planning authorities, contributing to a broad variety of projects within the ecology team.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Prior experience in ecological consultancy roles
- Proven expertise conducting habitat and protected species surveys
- Strong ability in technical report writing
- Comprehensive understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies
- Valid full UK driving licence
- Legal entitlement to work in the UK
- Residence in or near Edinburgh to facilitate work at the local office
- Membership with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) is advantageous
