Job description

About the Role

Transcarent is in search of a strategic and technically proficient Director, People Technology to helm its People Technology division. This role entails ownership of the operational framework, development roadmap, service delivery, and performance metrics across the People Technology ecosystem. The objective is to guarantee platform stability, scalability, and alignment with organizational goals. This leadership position focuses on transforming HR strategies and operational requirements into efficient technology solutions that enhance both employee and manager experiences, minimize manual processes, and support the growing complexity of the People function.

This role goes beyond conventional HRIS administration, leading a team responsible for building, operating, enhancing, and overseeing the People Technology portfolio. Close collaboration with the Systems Architect on future-state designs, integrations, data architecture, governance, and comprehensive decisions is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations and strategic directives of the People Technology function, including platform uptime, roadmap progression, governance, service delivery, release management, issue resolution, and continuous enhancement.
  • Transition the team from an implementation-focused approach to a robust operating model that accommodates business expansion, evolving People priorities, and a growing system landscape with end-to-end business process integration.
  • Define clear team objectives, roles, decision rights, operating routines, and performance targets.
  • Foster a culture centered on accountability, quality, urgency, and effective cross-functional partnerships.
  • Balance operational support, feature delivery, application stability, and long-term transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee a People Technology roadmap aligned with business goals, compliance, employee-manager requirements, and platform capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into prioritized projects with measurable outcomes and feasible timelines.
  • Create and maintain governance frameworks for enhancement requests, defect management, projects, and cross-departmental inputs.
  • Ensure efficient execution of configuration, integration, testing, deployment, issue tracking, and user adoption.
  • Provide transparent status updates, risk identification, and escalation protocols to maintain leadership confidence.
  • Maintain reliable, secure, and well-governed People Technology environments.
  • Establish and manage service levels, incident response procedures, release controls, production support practices, and operational metrics.
  • Enhance data integrity, workflow coherence, and transaction dependability within the People Technology ecosystem.
  • Identify and remove repetitive problems, manual tasks, unclear handoffs, and operational risks.
  • Work closely with technical architects and partners to align operational needs with design and architecture.
  • Implement monitoring and performance metrics that track system health, issue patterns, adoption rates, service quality, and roadmap progress.
  • Advocate an AI-first, product-oriented, and employee-centered mindset by empowering self-service, simplifying processes, and leveraging AI to reinvent operations.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders across People leadership, Employee Experience, Payroll, Finance, IT, Security, Legal, Data teams, and vendors to facilitate communication and change management.
  • Support business readiness and change impact management while ensuring technical solutions meet policy and process requirements.
  • Drive development of People Technology capabilities including automation, analytics, AI, and scalable service delivery while fostering team skills in operational excellence, vendor management, and systems thinking.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive leadership experience in HRIS, People Technology, HR Technology, or related enterprise platforms.
  • Proven success managing diverse teams and blended delivery frameworks in dynamic environments.
  • A history of enhancing team accountability, execution quality, and stakeholder trust.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, low ego, and willingness to engage deeply to remove obstacles and raise standards.
  • Ability to organize ambiguity into actionable clarity with well-defined priorities.
  • Solid understanding of People processes, compliance, systems, data, and employee experience alignment.
  • Proficient in translating business needs into technology roadmaps and operational practices.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders across functions through collaboration and influence rather than authority.
  • Knowledge of the employee lifecycle with a focus on reimagining operations rather than mere augmentation.
  • Background leading significant HRIS implementations, stabilization, or transformation projects.
  • Strong program and project leadership—prioritization, risk management, testing, and change coordination.
  • Capability to lead complex technology work across multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Technical fluency to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, system administrators, and vendors.
  • Experience with integrations, workflows, data governance, reporting, and production support within People Technology.
  • Product management mindset with continuous improvement, prioritization, and user-focus.
  • Familiarity with automation, analytics, and AI technologies in enterprise environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; advanced degrees or certifications advantageous.
  • Preferred experience includes healthcare or regulated industries handling sensitive workforce information and modern HR platform ecosystems.
