About the Role
Worley is seeking an experienced Business Development Director for its New Zealand operations, preferably based in Auckland, New Plymouth, or Wellington. This leadership role reports directly to the Managing Director and will be a vital part of the Senior Leadership Team. The primary responsibility involves leading the sales function and driving growth across the company’s portfolios.

In New Zealand, Worley operates from six locations and serves various clients in the energy, water, and industrial sectors, managing projects from initial engineering and consulting phases through installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies to accelerate company growth.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships and client relationships.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with current, target, and prospective clients.
- Capitalize on the company’s engineering, project delivery, and construction expertise to market services effectively.
- Preferably be situated in Auckland, New Plymouth, or Wellington to engage effectively with local markets.
Candidate Profile
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand’s engineering and contracting landscapes within the energy, water, and industrial sectors.
- Well-developed customer network spanning both islands of New Zealand.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in business development, with a preference for candidates familiar with project delivery environments.
- Capability to operate and communicate effectively at the C-suite level.
- Proven track record of successful bids and proposal management.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
- Legal eligibility to reside and work in New Zealand is mandatory.
