About the Role
Help at Home is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join their team in Greenville, MS. These professionals provide essential one-on-one assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their homes and community settings. Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with everyday living activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation needs.
- Support engagement in social and community events including shopping and recreational activities.
- Help clients work toward personal objectives and celebrate their achievements.
- Promote choice-making, independence, and self-advocacy among those supported.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, activities participated in, and progress made.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality support delivery.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass necessary background checks and complete required training.
- Hold a valid driver’s license along with reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide services safely and respectfully within client homes and community environments.
- Exhibit compassion, dependability, and a commitment to making a positive difference.
Preferred: Experience supporting individuals with I/DD or autism, familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS), and knowledge of basic behavior support techniques like redirection and visual prompting.
