Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist to create data-driven insights and machine learning models that enhance our personalization, recommendation engines, and analytics capabilities. This position involves converting raw data into actionable business intelligence by working closely with data engineers, product managers, and business units to support decision-making and improve customer experience across JD.com's international e-commerce operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models and advanced analytics tools to boost personalization, product recommendations, and segmentation of customers.
• Process and examine vast datasets to detect behavioral patterns, uncover business opportunities, and suggest product enhancements.
• Collaborate with data engineers to maintain data integrity, accessibility, and readiness for experimentation and model deployment.
• Plan and execute A/B testing to evaluate the effectiveness of algorithms and product features.
• Convert technical insights into straightforward, actionable advice for business and product stakeholders.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest research and industry standards in machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence, applying these advancements to address real-world e-commerce challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or closely related disciplines.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, with strong analytical and statistical modeling capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn, and data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Solid understanding of experimentation methods, including A/B testing and causal inference.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present complex data findings to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in global e-commerce, focusing on personalization or recommendation systems.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud-based ML platforms like AWS Sagemaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
• Knowledge of natural language processing or computer vision applications within large-scale platforms is a plus.
