Role Overview

The Customer Projects Specialist is responsible for managing customer-initiated electricity and gas connection projects from handover to completion. This role is the main point of contact for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, ensuring their requirements are understood, expectations managed, and project delivery meets Vector’s standards, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements. The specialist will coordinate design, delivery activities, contractor management, and internal stakeholder communication while keeping detailed records of project status, finances, and reports.

This position involves end-to-end accountability with autonomy to manage multiple projects and portfolios. Projects include subdivisions, commercial developments, and transport upgrades, with visible impacts on customer satisfaction and outcomes. The role requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, balancing priorities, identifying risks proactively, and providing practical solutions along with collaboration with field service providers and various internal teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience in owning and delivering projects end-to-end, beyond just coordinating tasks.
• Experience with projects in utilities, infrastructure, or regulated sectors is preferred.
• A relevant tertiary or professional qualification is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical details clearly and manage customer expectations effectively.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with accountability and problem-solving abilities.
