Role overview
This is an interview-based opening for a full-time courier in Barrie, Ontario. The role centers on timely and polite pickup and delivery of packages along an assigned route, along with checks to ensure shipments meet Federal Express Canada service standards and the delivery of related customer support.
What you'll do
- Collect and deliver packages efficiently on a designated route.
- Verify every shipment against Federal Express Canada service requirements.
- Handle customer service tasks related to pickup and delivery operations.
- Complete any other duties assigned as part of the role.
What you need
- High school diploma or an equivalent educational background.
- A valid driver’s license with a strong driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages weighing up to 150 lbs using the proper equipment.
- At least 1 year of customer-focused business experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of the required pre-employment driver assessment training.
- Working knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian Customs rules is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time-management abilities.
- Comfort with multitasking, high-pressure situations, and stressful environments.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and holidays based on business requirements.
- For Quebec-based employees, bilingual ability in French and English is required.
- Ability to meet ongoing training and accreditation requirements and work in a Windows PC environment.
Schedule and vehicle requirements
The preferred schedule is Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. A full valid Class G licence is mandatory; G2 licences are not accepted. Candidates must be comfortable operating a Freightliner P1000.
Compensation
The posted wage for this full-time position is $22.60 per hour. The start rate may not apply to internal employees.
