Role Overview
The Contract Administrator role is a full-time office position situated in the Greater Melbourne Area. The key responsibility is preparing, reviewing, and managing Pre-construction contracts for both residential and commercial developments. Daily duties encompass organizing contract paperwork, overseeing project variations, ensuring compliance with contract terms, engaging in Pre-construction planning and design processes, and collaborating with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate contract documentation and manage contract variations diligently.
- Collaborate with clients, planning consultants, and councils to ensure project compliance without compromising design vision.
- Gather and collate necessary permit documentation including planning and building permits.
- Support contract negotiations and drive timely approval processes.
- Contribute to risk management and continually improve contract administration processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication expertise to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Proficiency in contract management and procurement, including administering agreements, handling variations, and supplier management.
- Analytical abilities to interpret contract terms, analyze cost reports, and identify potential risks.
- Experience with construction documentation and contract administration software; meticulous attention to detail and organizational capability.
- Familiarity with Australian construction regulations and contracts, with experience in residential and commercial sectors preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business, or related disciplines is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines while maintaining a respectful and safe work environment.
- Experience working on-site in the Greater Melbourne Area.
- Preferred experience with Buildxact software.
- Design experience and strong comprehension of architectural plans to ensure functional and well-flowing floorplans.
- Support in compiling documentation required for planning and building permits.
