Role Overview
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People seeks a professional storyteller with expertise in communications, journalism, PR, content creation, or digital marketing. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing and interviewing talents, a keen sense for uncovering impactful stories, and the ability to create emotionally resonant content independently. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records and media consents are essential.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will help mold how Rainbows shares its narrative throughout the East Midlands, enhancing awareness of our specialized care and motivating support for infants, children, young people, and their families. Responsibilities include sourcing and developing engaging stories from families, supporters, staff, and other stakeholders and producing ready-to-publish content for press releases, web, email, social media, and fundraising initiatives.
Joining at a crucial time where storytelling is vital to our digital presence, fundraising, and public recognition, you will craft sensitive and audience-tailored content that adapts across various communication channels.
Working collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team, your tasks involve conducting interviews, composing compelling stories, supporting campaign content creation, enhancing digital storytelling strategies, and maintaining a diverse and robust collection of stories, quotes, images, and video materials for organizational use. You will coordinate closely with the PR Manager and Income Generation and Marketing Directorate to back regional media efforts, fundraising campaigns, and digital media.
Candidate Profile
This position suits applicants with proven experience in communications, public relations, or journalism. While experience in hospice or healthcare settings is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Of utmost importance is the skill to produce compassionate, high-quality, and influential content.
