Commodity Trading Coordinator

About the Role

ExxonMobil is seeking a Commodity Trading Coordinator in Singapore to ensure seamless management of commodity trades from initial deal development through execution and post-trade processes. You will work closely with trading and origination teams to launch new business opportunities and manage ongoing contracts. Your role depends upon insightful analysis, careful coordination across departments, and hands-on engagement in all aspects of the trade lifecycle to drive successful outcomes and manage risk in the fast-paced world of commodity trading.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize preparatory activities for the introduction of new deals, including assembling toolkits, conducting analyses, and creating presentation materials to support strategic initiatives.
• Assist traders and origination personnel in negotiating, executing, and maintaining agreements for both new and existing opportunities.
• Oversee the onboarding of new deals, managing setup in Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, and liaising with risk management and support teams for smooth processing.
• Drive the implementation of new activities such as entering markets, coordinating logistics, establishing agreements, IT integration, and facilitating management of change procedures.
• Ready mid- and back-office teams for operational go-live of new deals and ensure all process requirements are in place.
• Support the trading staff in position management, providing recommendations for maintaining balanced books as market conditions evolve.
• Monitor risks related to ongoing trades, evaluate trade-related risk reports, and initiate corrective actions as necessary and within delegated authority.
• Maintain up-to-date records of business opportunities and track engagement and key milestones associated with counterparties.
• Coordinate meetings to ensure prioritization and alignment across the trading, origination, and other relevant business units.
• Act as the main commercial point of contact for managing forward price curves and ensure all regulatory and compliance processes are followed on behalf of the trading and origination groups.
• Liaise with analytics teams to collect competitor intelligence and industry research, supporting the evaluation of prospective opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Prior experience in commodity trading support, business operations, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities to coordinate multi-stakeholder activities across teams.
• Analytical skills to interpret trade risk, market data, and performance indicators.
• Knowledge of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems and risk management tools is an advantage.
• Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements within commodity trading sectors.
