Role Purpose
- Participate as part of a multi-disciplinary project team representing AESG by conducting site inspections and validating test results for accuracy.
- Expand understanding of commissioning processes and test procedures within engineering disciplines, demonstrating commitment to learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in MEP / Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; or Diploma/HNC/HND/Certificates in related fields.
- Relevant trade qualifications such as MEP Trade with City & Guilds certification.
- Minimum experience depending on qualification: 2 years with engineering degree; 3 years with college diploma; 4 years with college or trade certificate.
- Industry accreditations such as Incorporated Engineer status, CSA Grade 3 qualification, or commissioning certifications (BCA, ACG, NEBB) are advantageous but not mandatory.
General Expectations
- Moderate experience and proficiency across multiple competencies.
- Ability to manage tasks under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior staff during commissioning activities.
- Gain insights into the chosen discipline and system interrelations within buildings.
- Execute site inspections within specified disciplines.
- Evaluate test procedures and results for alignment with project specifications and codes of practice.
- Assist in reviewing project documentation for compliance.
- Report issues clearly and accurately to senior team members.
- Maintain professional communication with contractor commissioning teams.
- Conduct quality inspections of installations on site.
- Monitor installation processes, submittals, and the use of engineering tools under project and commissioning protocols.
- Help track task completion and prepare forward-looking project documents.
- Keep detailed daily logs of activities, including inspections, document reviews, and site decisions.
