Position Overview
This role involves managing the guest check-in and check-out process, including confirming reservations, assigning rooms, activating room keys, and processing various payment methods such as cash, checks, debit, and credit cards. The clerk will also handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, as well as coordinate with housekeeping to ensure room readiness. Additionally, this position requires assisting guests with parking procedures and dispatching bell or valet staff as necessary, providing information about the property and surrounding areas, and generating daily operational and financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle guest check-ins by verifying reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing keys.
- Process payments related to room charges and other services using multiple payment methods.
- Manage guest check-outs, resolving any late or disputed charges efficiently.
- Answer, log, and respond to guest communications including calls and messages.
- Coordinate with housekeeping teams to monitor room availability and status.
- Inform guests about parking arrangements and coordinate bell or valet staff as needed.
- Provide directions and local information to guests about the property and nearby attractions.
- Prepare and review daily reports detailing guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
- Complete cashiering duties, including balancing cash drawers and preparing closing reports.
- Follow all safety, security, and company policies to maintain a safe and professional workplace.
- Maintain company standards by presenting a clean, professional appearance and protecting confidential information.
- Deliver warm, professional, and courteous guest interactions, including assisting those with disabilities.
- Use clear and professional communication when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Establish and sustain good working relationships with colleagues and management.
- Fulfill physical job requirements such as standing, walking for extended periods, and handling light lifting.
- Perform any reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- No prior work experience or supervisory experience is necessary.
- No licenses or certifications are required for this position.
