Role Summary
Orasis Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead the company’s financial direction and oversee core finance operations in a full-time, remote capacity. This leader will shape budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning to support expansion and innovation within the ophthalmic pharmaceutical space.
The position is accountable for financial reporting, the accuracy of financial statements, regulatory compliance, capital allocation, cash flow management, and strategic financial support for senior leadership. The CFO will also strengthen internal controls, guide a skilled finance team, and work closely with other functions to enable business development, research and development investment, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the company’s overall financial strategy and operating rhythm.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning efforts.
- Oversee financial reporting and maintain the quality and integrity of financial statements.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, accounting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Support decisions related to capital deployment and cash flow optimization.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic business initiatives.
- Provide clear, actionable financial analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build, coach, and manage a high-performing finance organization.
- Design and maintain strong internal control processes.
- Collaborate across teams to support business development, R&D funding, and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Deep experience in finance, financial planning, and financial reporting.
- Strong ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements.
- Advanced analytical capability with sound judgment for strategic decision-making.
- Significant leadership experience in senior finance roles, ideally in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare.
- Proven success in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting for organizations focused on growth.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory obligations, and compliance frameworks.
- Comfort leading distributed teams in a remote, collaborative setting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for non-financial audiences.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred; CPA or CFA certification is an advantage.
