About the Role

The position of Mock Hotel Operations Supervisor at Batterjee Medical College involves complete management and supervision of the new mock hotel training facility. This role focuses on Food & Beverage, culinary arts, stewarding, equipment readiness, hygiene, inventory, scheduling, and training facilitation. It demands a hands-on professional with deep hospitality operational skills and experience in culinary and stewarding functions, alongside understanding of practical training environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the mock hotel, encompassing kitchens, F&B service areas, stewarding sectors, storage, and related spaces.
  • Guarantee all areas are fully prepared, clean, safe, and operational ahead of training sessions.
  • Organize facility usage aligned with academic schedules, workshops, events, and assessments.
  • Ensure workflows emulate authentic hotel and hospitality industry practices.
  • Develop and manage schedules coordinating staff, instructors, and trainees to prevent conflicts.
  • Maintain detailed inventories of all equipment, utensils, linens, consumables, and supplies with regular audits.
  • Support culinary and stewarding practical training ensuring the availability and readiness of all necessary tools, equipment, and ingredients.
  • Uphold stringent compliance with food safety protocols, hygiene, sanitation, and safe handling of food and equipment.
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety, and proper operational discipline in kitchen and service areas.
  • Coordinate maintenance and readiness of facilities, reporting issues and securing timely repairs.
  • Assist trainers by creating realistic hospitality scenarios and guiding trainees on operational discipline, cleanliness, and teamwork without replacing academic instruction.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and reports on operations, inventory, incidents, and compliance.
  • Collaborate on resource procurement, budget planning, and cost optimization without affecting quality or safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes incorporating industry best practices for operational workflows, scheduling, inventory control, and standard operating procedures.

Additional Information

  • The role requires active physical presence with duties such as standing, walking, lifting light to moderate items, and direct supervision in the training environment.
  • Working hours can vary depending on training demands, events, and operational needs.
  • High standards of professionalism, hygiene, safety, and operational excellence are expected.
  • Reports directly to the Executive Director, Program Director, and Head of Hospitality Training.
  • Position is open to all nationalities with preference given to qualified Saudi candidates.
  • Gender requirement: Male.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, Culinary Arts, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in hospitality operations including chef steward or similar roles.
  • Experience in vocational or hospitality training and education is essential.
  • Valid food safety certification is mandatory.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written; Arabic is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Saudi nationals preferred if meeting qualifications.
  • Experience managing training kitchens, simulation labs, or mock hotel environments.
  • Familiarity with preparing facilities for audits, inspections, and accreditation visits.
  • Knowledge of hotel standards, F&B service, kitchen hygiene, and practical training operations.
