Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time permanent CCTV Assistant based in Bideford. The position includes a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate, consistent, and efficient completion of CCTV and drainage survey requests.
• Ensure all drainage surveys are conducted safely and comply with relevant standards.
• Install and remove signing, lighting, and guarding in line with NRWSA (Red Book) guidelines.
• Supervise and guide the CCTV Assistant team on site activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Process and generate site survey data using software tools including Wincan VX, Microsoft Office, and PDF editing applications.
• Conduct detailed and precise drainage mapping.
• Use and maintain various survey technologies and equipment responsibly.
• Conduct and supervise confined space entry activities ensuring full compliance and safety.
• Perform on-site point of work risk assessments and document safe working practices.
• Apply PUWER and LOLER inspections weekly.
• Report hazards, observations, safety interventions, and suggest improvements through designated workplace applications.
• Maintain clean and organized vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) relevant to assigned tasks.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in drainage surveys and mapping.
• Effective communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather and capable of lifting/moving loads safely within limits.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
• Ability to diagnose, investigate, and solve drainage network issues.
• Commitment to promoting a safe work environment under the mantra 'Think Safe, Work Safe, Home Safe'.
• Knowledgeable in health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Competent IT skills for processing survey data and using relevant software.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to clearly organize and present data.
• Experience in asset and site surveying.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Certifications: OX19x (Pipe Sewer Classification), CSCS card, competence with LOLER & PUWER regulations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety, traffic management, and drainage systems.
• Technical knowledge of camera systems and data management.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Confined Space Entry (Medium level).
• SLG Unit 2 certification.
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Training in Manual Handling, Working at Height, COSHH, and Risk Assessment.
• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
• SHEA Water Hygiene certification.
• OS21x (Brick Sewer Classification).
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) for rail access.
• Further experience in asset studies and site surveying.
