CAD Operator – Roads & Highway

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled CAD Operator with expertise in Roads and Highways design to strengthen our engineering and design team. The position demands proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and 2D/3D modeling to generate precise and professional engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D and 3D drawings for roads and highways using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• Prepare plans, profiles, cross-sections, grading schemes, construction documents, and other essential engineering drawings.
• Translate engineering notes, specifications, sketches, and design inputs into accurate, functional drawings.
• Produce general arrangement layouts, structural details, and relevant design documentation according to project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with design engineers to develop and finalize project-related drawings.
• Conduct dimensional and routine calculations necessary for drafting purposes.
• Verify the precision of drawings, layouts, and design specifics; make corrections as needed.
• Maintain well-organized drawing archives with proper backup and document management.
• Review applicable technical manuals, standards, codes, and directives to guarantee project compliance.
• Create detailed and accurate 2D/3D road models leveraging AutoCAD Civil 3D capabilities.
• Ensure adherence to CAD standards, ISO 19650 workflows, and approval protocols.
• Interpret 2D and 3D designs as well as manufacturer and supplier drawings.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and deliverable schedules.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of proven experience in roads and highways design and modeling.
• Expertise in the following software tools: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Navisworks, ProjectWise, and ACC Navigator.
• Solid knowledge of road and highway design principles and practices.
• Ability to develop and adjust highway and road design features within AutoCAD and Civil 3D environments.
• Sound understanding of CAD standards, engineering drawing best practices, and ISO 19650 regulations.
• High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all drawings.
• Proven competency in managing multiple projects and meeting stringent deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with effective coordination abilities.
• Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
