Role Overview
This position requires a decisive closer talent who not only initiates opportunities but also furthers them to completion and returns with substantial transaction volume. As the Business Development professional for Gate Pay, you will manage merchant acquisition and ecosystem partnerships comprehensively. Your responsibility includes converting traditional Web2 businesses into adopters of crypto payment systems, nurturing a robust pipeline of significant partners, and directly influencing transaction volumes that fuel our expansion. This is a revenue-focused role suited for someone familiar with crypto payment processes and adept at converting relationships into tangible business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and onboard merchants to utilize Gate Pay for payments and settlements.
- Facilitate the adoption of crypto-enabled payment solutions among Web2 merchants, covering payments, remittances, and on/off-ramp mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of crypto-native merchants, platforms, and high-transaction-volume users.
- Form and expand partnerships with wallets, payment service providers (PSPs), fintech companies, and crypto infrastructure entities.
- Drive transaction volumes by establishing consistent payment use cases within your network.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial outreach through closing, integration, and growth of long-term accounts.
- Support merchants after onboarding to ensure their sustained success with the platform.
- Continuously discover new merchant segments and avenues to broaden crypto payment adoption.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of three years experience in Business Development or Sales, particularly with exposure to cryptocurrency, Web3, or digital financial assets.
- Proven background in merchant acquisition, payment partnerships, or business development in Web3 environments.
- Established connections in at least one of these sectors: traditional Web2 merchants (e.g., e-commerce, digital services, cross-border commerce); crypto-centric merchants or platforms; or PSPs, fintech firms, and payment infrastructure providers.
- Demonstrated ability to transform relationships into measurable transaction volume and income rather than just meetings.
- A strong execution orientation, results-driven mindset, and eagerness for swift progress.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
