Position Summary

The Business Analyst Intern role, reporting to Technology Services and project managers, involves assisting with gathering and documenting business requirements, supporting project management, conducting data and financial analysis, and aiding in testing and implementation efforts. This position offers students a chance to gain substantive experience in business analysis, technological project management, process optimization, and cross-team cooperation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project managers and analysts in planning, tracking, and documenting projects.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into precise functional specifications and workflow documents.
• Conduct data and financial analyses to aid decision-making.
• Participate in cost-benefit evaluations, risk identification, and issue documentation.
• Maintain structured project files such as meeting notes, issue logs, decision records, and status reports.
• Assist in creating and executing user acceptance testing plans and manage defect tracking.
• Engage with stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and project members in meetings.
• Coordinate follow-ups on project tasks with internal and external participants.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements through technology or operational changes.
• Utilize project management and analytical tools to support activities.
• Perform additional project support and analytic duties as needed.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, or related fields.
• Genuine interest in business analysis, technology, financial services, asset management, or project coordination.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and IT teams.
• Detail-oriented and adept at managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Visio, Project, Jira, SharePoint, Power BI, or SQL is advantageous.
• Quick learner of new technologies and tools.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
• Professional attitude with enthusiasm to contribute to project success.

Preferred Background

• Academic focus in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or computer-related studies.
• Coursework or projects in systems analysis, database design, business process modeling, or data analytics.
• Experience with Excel advanced functions, data visualizations, reporting, or basic SQL queries.
• Interest in financial technology, asset management, or merger and acquisition environments.
• Previous internships or practical experience related to business analysis, technology support, or project coordination.

Compensation

This role offers an hourly pay rate of $25. The total compensation package includes a base salary plus a variable cash bonus based on individual and market factors such as experience and qualifications. Compensation is competitively aligned to local market conditions.
