About the Role

Qantas, founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, has become Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline group. Its wider business includes subsidiaries that help run the Group’s operations, with the core airline brands Qantas and Jetstar providing regional, domestic and international passenger and freight services.

This permanent Business Analyst position is based at the Mascot Campus in Sydney and sits within the Seat Ancillaries team. The role reports to the Manager of Continuous Improvement and focuses on improving the portfolio that covers seating logic, chargeable seating, paid upgrades and related policies. The position is centered on continuous improvement, process optimisation, reporting, stakeholder engagement and data-led decision support.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the design, planning and rollout of improvement initiatives across the Seat Ancillaries portfolio, making sure they align with business priorities and customer expectations.
  • Work with colleagues to assess current workflows, refine processes using best-practice methods, and measure outcomes through key performance indicators.
  • Develop reports and use customer and performance data to identify opportunities to improve products, services and internal processes.
  • Help leaders by preparing clear information, contributing to quality assurance testing solutions, and explaining how features and processes operate.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, implement better ways of working and track the impact of changes over time.
  • Contribute to short-, medium- and long-term innovation efforts that deliver measurable improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 3 years of experience in an analytical role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, ideally technology, business, commerce or aviation.
  • Strong capability in solving complex strategic problems.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver against targets.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
  • Strong skills in engaging and managing stakeholders, including facilitating structured workshops and day-to-day collaboration.
  • Good understanding of change management principles.
  • Experience in process improvement and optimisation.
  • Background in leading cross-functional projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Advanced critical thinking and sound judgement.
  • Strong analytical ability and confidence in interpreting data.
