Role Summary

This role is focused on designing, supporting, and enhancing workflow automation, runbook execution, and service automation specifically within Service Desk and Colleague Experience processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Detect automation opportunities throughout Service Desk, Colleague Experience (CE), Tech Bar, request fulfillment, and recurring incident workflows.
• Assist in creating workflows for repeatable tasks, standard requests, and resolver handoffs.
• Utilize tools such as ServiceNow, AskIT, AI, runbook platforms, and other automation solutions within scope.
• Convert operational challenges into automation candidates and improvement backlog items.
• Facilitate automation of common fulfillment tasks where proper access, approvals, and controls exist.
• Collaborate with L1, L2, L3, and SRE/resolver teams to ensure runbooks are accessible and usable by front-office personnel.
• Help measure automation success through demand reduction, first-time fix (FTF) improvements, and minimizing manual workload.
• Maintain all automation-related documentation, compliance evidence, and materials for operational handover.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience with workflow automation including ServiceNow workflow, Flow Designer, App Engine, or equivalent platforms.
• Good understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, notably request fulfillment and incident triage.
• Proficiency with scripting or other automation platforms.
• Ability to translate operational processes into systematic, repeatable workflows.
• Awareness of security protocols, change control procedures, and audit requirements.
• Familiarity with automation governance, access permissions, runbook ownership, change control processes, and approval routes.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold at least an undergraduate degree or possess equivalent postgraduate experience.
