Overview
The Associate Director of Repairs leads and oversees comprehensive home repair initiatives, ensuring projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and align with organizational objectives. This position manages a variety of services including essential repairs, pre-weatherization, aging-in-place adaptations, and healthy homes programs. The role also entails cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, government bodies, community organizations, and statewide collaborators in the home repair sector. With increasing opportunities for growth through partnerships with healthcare and energy-efficiency funders, the Associate Director holds a pivotal position in scaling the program's impact. Above all, the individual embodies Habitat's mission as both a ministry and service provider across multiple domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 4-5 staff members, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and support.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Provide staff with necessary tools, training, and resources to enhance performance.
- Develop and oversee the program's budget working closely with program directors and finance teams.
- Ensure effective use of resources to deliver cost-efficient programming.
- Monitor and evaluate program progress and impact using established tools and data analysis.
- Work with leadership to set and achieve annual goals consistent with the organization's mission and capacity.
- Perform audits and uphold quality standards within the team’s work and data management.
- Maintain accurate and timely data entry in software systems.
- Evaluate processes and staffing to facilitate scalable repair output.
- Represent the organization in meetings with funders, sponsors, and partner entities.
- Collaborate with development teams to share outcomes data and pursue funding opportunities.
- Manage vendor relations ensuring competitive pricing and high-quality workmanship.
- Promote inclusion by increasing minority subcontractor involvement in the repair program.
- Regularly update partners on program progress and outcomes.
- Drive innovation to enhance repair strategies and program effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of four years relevant experience in construction project management, nonprofit housing, or equivalent fields.
- At least two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume repair or construction programs successfully.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building capabilities.
- Knowledgeable in residential construction, applicable building codes, and safety protocols.
- Experience with budgeting, compliance monitoring, and program performance evaluation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Salesforce software.
- A strong commitment to affordable housing and serving vulnerable communities.
Educational Requirements
A degree in Business, Project Management, or a related discipline is preferred. Alternatively, candidates with five or more years of nonprofit program leadership experience will also be considered.
