Team Insights

The Singapore Operations unit directs and expands Grab's business operations locally, shaping strategies and operational capabilities to create meaningful community value. The Merchant Operations team especially acts as the voice representing merchant partnerships, collaborating with various business units such as GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabPay, and other departments to devise scalable models that ensure smooth merchant experiences. The overarching goal is to bridge strategic business plans with operational execution to foster product launches, boost efficiency, and support commercial growth.

Role Overview

The Business Projects Associate serves as the operational partner for one or more business verticals, facilitating the conversion of commercial strategies into scalable operations including merchant activation, payment processes, and support services. This involves leading cross-functional projects from inception to launch and post-launch phases, coordinating with teams across business, product, finance, engineering, and regional operations to design processes and solutions that generate measurable business impact. This position directly reports to the Lead of Business Projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives across both current and emerging commercial verticals.
• Own the end-to-end management of country-specific projects, encompassing problem identification, solution formulation, execution, launching, and continuous enhancement.
• Convert business needs into operational workflows, policies, and technical enhancements by engaging product, engineering, and regional teams.
• Ensure operational readiness ahead of new product launches by securing components like merchant onboarding, payment handling (commissions, billing, payouts, incentives), merchant communication, training, and support.
• Design and iteratively enhance scalable operational frameworks, workflows, and support mechanisms to sustain business expansion.
• Evaluate business and operational metrics to spot automation, cost-saving, procedural improvement opportunities, and ways to better merchant experiences.
• Create data-driven business cases balancing commercial goals, operational practicality, and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate diverse stakeholders proactively to mitigate risks and guarantee successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in program management, business operations, or related roles within dynamic and evolving environments.
• Strong project management expertise with proven ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and influence cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and structured problem-solving skills, adept at interpreting data into practical recommendations.
• Comfortable operating independently in uncertain situations with a strong drive for initiative.
• Effective communicator and stakeholder manager, skilled in aligning diverse teams around shared objectives.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality and results-driven attitude aiming to generate tangible business outcomes.
• Familiarity with SQL is advantageous.
