Assistant Store Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Store Manager at Spencer's plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest service and supporting the Store Manager in all store operations. This position focuses on maximizing sales and profitability through staff development, expense and shrink control, merchandising, and inventory management according to company policies.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $14.75 to $15.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience. Benefits include paid sick leave, vacation, holidays, bereavement and jury duty pay, contest prize awards, a 401(k) plan with company match, medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, an employee assistance program, and a 30% merchandise discount. A college scholarship award is also available. Eligibility for bonuses, awards, and benefits is subject to meeting qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding guest service and uphold company standards.
• Assist the Store Manager in daily operations and decision-making.
• Increase store profitability by developing the store team and controlling expenses, including shrinkage.
• Oversee merchandising and manage inventory effectively within company guidelines.
• Ensure all activities comply with Spencer's policies and procedures.

Requirements and Physical Expectations

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Prior experience in retail and/or management is required.
• Physical demands include standing and walking for more than 8 hours, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
