Role overview
A national commercial real estate organization is seeking an Assistant Project Manager focused on construction and design to help deliver tenant improvements, interior remodels, landlord scope, and capital upgrade projects across the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. The portfolio covers about 1.2 million square feet of retail and office space spread across four major assets in the region, with more than 200 stores, office suites, and tenant spaces.
A Lead Project Manager is already in place for the renovation and tenant improvement program, but the scale of the properties, ongoing construction workload, and continued expansion in South Florida call for additional support on the team.
What you'll do
- Support projects from early conceptual estimating and design development through construction completion and closeout.
- Oversee the general contractor while work is underway at the project sites.
- Evaluate landlord and tenant construction drawings for accuracy and coordination.
- Coordinate among design teams, permitting, leasing, legal, asset management, consultants, tenants, and outside property managers.
- Help manage lease-related budgets, timelines, and delivery commitments.

Qualifications
- 1 to 4 years of experience in commercial construction or design project management, gained at a general contractor, architecture firm, or real estate company.
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to report in person to the office or project locations every day; all sites are local.
Compensation and benefits
The base pay range is $85,000 to $105,000 per year, plus a 10% annual bonus and full benefits.
