About the Role

The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore's premier University of Applied Learning, is seeking faculty in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) at various seniority levels including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. SIT focuses on producing industry-ready graduates through integrated applied learning and research with strategic industry collaborations. Situated in the Punggol Digital District, SIT offers a unique ecosystem blending academia, industry, and community.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in applied AI research projects in collaboration with industry and government, focusing on sectors such as advanced manufacturing, urban systems, AI-augmented engineering, AI safety and security, chemical engineering, healthcare, hospitality, and tourism.
• Design and deliver applied AI courses across various interdisciplinary programs within the AI cluster.
• Supervise Industry Doctorate, Masters, and capstone projects jointly with domain faculty and industry partners.
• Contribute to continuous education programs at SIT.
• Mentor SIT domain faculty on AI through collaborative projects and co-supervision.

Qualifications and Expertise

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field demonstrating active AI/ML research; significant industry experience may be considered equivalent.
• Technical mastery in one or more specialized AI fields including physics-informed neural networks, time-series modeling, Bayesian methods, LLMs, graph neural networks, reinforcement learning, edge AI, trustworthy AI, spatiotemporal engineering, and digital twins.
• Experience applying AI techniques to SIT’s focus areas and proven leadership addressing practical industry and societal issues.
• Record of industry partnerships, applied research grants, deployment experience, and notable academic influence via publications and keynotes.
• Demonstrated impact through non-publication outputs like open-source software, patents, or deployed systems.
• History of interdisciplinary collaboration and strong mentoring skills, with enthusiasm for student engagement in education.
• Effective communication skills tailored for cross-disciplinary audiences, industry professionals, and the public.
