Position Overview
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and operations of several retail stores within a defined territory, managing one or more brands. This role demands driving sales growth, monitoring financial health, ensuring superior customer service, and leading store teams to uphold company standards. Strong market insight, financial management, and strategic communication with senior leadership and brand teams are vital to maximize store outcomes and business goals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across multiple fashion retail outlets within a designated area, ensuring compliance with company standards for store functioning, including opening and closing routines.
- Delegate responsibilities to store managers, supervise task completion, and enforce adherence to SOPs, policies, and loss prevention guidelines.
- Serve as the main liaison with Brand Teams to consistently execute business and marketing strategies across all stores.
- Analyze sales metrics such as units per transaction, average transaction value, monthly sales, sales per square foot, sales turnover, shrinkage, and conversion rates to drive financial performance improvements.
- Oversee budgets and expenses for each location, implementing cost-efficiency measures without compromising product or service quality.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service by mentoring teams, conducting regular store visits to monitor service levels, and addressing concerns promptly.
- Use market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and tailor localized marketing and sales strategies to enhance foot traffic and revenue.
- Maintain regular communication with senior management to report on area performance, operational challenges, and opportunities for expansion.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance to foster skill development, motivation, and teamwork across all stores.
- Develop succession plans to secure ongoing leadership and operational excellence within the area.
Candidate Profile
The candidate should possess between 5 to 7 years of retail management experience, including 2 to 3 years in multi-store supervision roles such as Area or District Manager. Experience should preferably be within fashion or similar industries, reflecting a proven ability to manage multiple outlets successfully.
